Cheats
Total spoilers. The game gives hints in the Record book panel: hover a grey cell to read the hint (on a touch screen: long-press it).
ELORUSH has 20 hidden cheats. They all really work, but the referee notices:
- each cheat shows a yellow card, and every third card is red, with a warning sound;
- a red card means you are sent off: you lose 25% of your banked tempo and the current analysis, and your production is halved for 10 min. Each new red card doubles that time (10, 20, 40, then 60 min at most);
- the first time, the cheat enters the record book, a collection separate from trophies, with no bonus, and it does not count toward the total;
- the ending screen says the run was “assisted by N cheat(s)”.

1. The browser console
Section titled “1. The browser console”Open the console: F12 or Ctrl+Shift+J (Windows/Linux), Cmd+Option+J (Mac), Console tab. At startup the game writes a pink message: the referee is not watching the console… type caissa.help().
caissa.help() (or caissa.aide()) — Secret Message
Section titled “caissa.help() (or caissa.aide()) — Secret Message”Prints a table of every command and a hint about the magic words.
Caïssa’s commands — Hand of God
Section titled “Caïssa’s commands — Hand of God”| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
caissa.tempo() | +1 h of production (at least 100 clicks) |
caissa.tempo(1e30) | +1e30 tempo, or any amount |
caissa.analyses() / caissa.analyses(50) | +5 analyses by default, or the number you ask for |
caissa.pieces('knight', 10) | +10 free copies. Names: pawn, knight, bishop, rook, queen, king, club, gm, engine, neural, timeline, antimatter, prism, luck, fractal, console, multiverse, cortex, caissa |
caissa.rival() | spawns a rival piece immediately (no card) |
caissa.puzzle() | offers a puzzle immediately, if puzzles are unlocked (no card) |
caissa.flip() | flips the board, or puts it back (no card) |
caissa.referee() | the referee comments on your record book |
The first three resource commands (tempo, analyses, pieces) trigger “Hand of God”.
The same commands exist in French, whatever language the game is in: caissa.aide(), caissa.rivale(), caissa.probleme(), caissa.retourner(), caissa.arbitre().
Magic words (type them without parentheses)
Section titled “Magic words (type them without parentheses)”| Type | Effect |
|---|---|
cheat or tricher | Self-Confessed Cheater: +1 h of production |
e4 | 1.e4!: +10 min of production, and your hero pawn is placed on e4 |
jadoube | J’adoube: every piece plays a move at once, and clicks are ×5 for 30 s |
d4 | a comment only, no effect and no card |
Typing a magic word again grants the effect again, and a new card.
2. Keyboard codes
Section titled “2. Keyboard codes”Type them anywhere on the page, except in a text field. There is no input box: the game listens to the keys.
| Code | Origin | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A | the Konami code | “Mode 1987”: production ×2 for 10 min, the board and logo cycle through a rainbow |
motherlode | The Sims | “Motherlode”: the greater of 50,000 tempo and 15 min of production |
iddqd | Doom (god mode) | for 10 min, rival pieces no longer flee. A rival appears at once |
bongcloud | the famous “worst opening” (1.e4 e5 2.Ke2) | production ×3 for 45 s, your King wanders for 16 s |
stockfish | the free chess engine | the next 3 puzzles show “Stockfish whispers: e2 → e4 (#1)”. A puzzle is offered immediately if puzzles are unlocked |
caissa | the goddess of chess | a message invites you to open the console (no card) |
3. The logo and the address
Section titled “3. The logo and the address”- Logo Fan: click ELORUSH in the top left 7 times, each click less than 1.5 s after the previous one. You get “Golden pawn”: click ×7 for 60 s.
- Secret Link: open the game with
#caissaat the end of the address (for examplehttps://elorush.fr/#caissa). You receive +5 analyses, once per save.
4. The computer clock
Section titled “4. The computer clock”The game compares the system clock (Date.now()) with its own clock, which cannot be faked (performance.now()), every 2 seconds.
Time Traveler: move the clock forward
Section titled “Time Traveler: move the clock forward”While the game is running, move the system date or time forward by more than 5 minutes. The game credits you 50% of the skipped time (48 h at most per jump):
- production: base production × seconds × 0.5;
- analyses: this is the only cheat that really speeds up training without the console.
You can also move the clock before opening the game: that counts as a normal absence (offline gains, capped at 8 h or 24 h). It pays less, and the referee sees nothing.
Back to the Past: move the clock backward
Section titled “Back to the Past: move the clock backward”- Moving the clock back by more than a minute during play, or opening a save made “in the future”, triggers the cheat.
- No reward: the referee stops the clock on principle. Turn automatic time back on afterwards.
5. Special dates
Section titled “5. Special dates”Checked when the game starts (click the title screen). Change the computer’s date, then reload. Bonuses last the whole session (until the next reload) and they stack.
| Computer date | Cheat | Effect | Nod |
|---|---|---|---|
| any date before the year 2000 | Vintage Computer | production ×1.987, forced CRT | the game’s neo-retro look |
| May 11 (any year) | Deep Blue | Engines ×10 | May 11, 1997: Deep Blue beats Garry Kasparov |
| July 20 | World Chess Day | production ×2 | International Chess Day, FIDE founded in 1924 |
| April 1 | April Fools | the board is shown upside down, production +1% |
Example combo: set the computer to May 11, 1997. You get “Vintage Computer” and “Deep Blue”: production ×1.987 and Engines ×10.
6. The save: Forger
Section titled “6. The save: Forger”The save is in the browser’s localStorage, under the key gambit.save.v1 (readable JSON). Its signature is stored inside it, in the last field, _sig.
- Developer tools (F12) › Application › Local Storage › the game’s site;
- edit the
gambit.save.v1value, for example"tempo":1e30or"analyses":1100; - reload the page.
The signature no longer matches: “Forger” is recorded, but your edits are kept. Another method, the only one on phones: menu ≡ › Export, decode the text (Base64 → JSON), edit it, encode it again, then Import. The export carries the signature too: once imported, “Forger” is recorded the same way (and your edits are kept).
7. Spy
Section titled “7. Spy”Opening the developer tools docked to the window is detected: the page becomes clearly smaller than the window. Elo flashes and the referee pretends not to see. This cheat is counted only once. Detection is approximate: it misses tools opened in a separate window, and a strong zoom can trigger it by mistake.
8. “Unofficial” cheats (not detected)
Section titled “8. “Unofficial” cheats (not detected)”They are not in the record book, but they work:
- Autoclicker: software that clicks for you. The game accepts dozens of clicks per second, which is very strong with the “+1% of production per click” upgrades.
- Background tab: the game catches up at 100% (up to 8 h) when you return. This is barely a cheat.
- Open console: the
ELORUSH.Gameobject exposes the whole game state (ELORUSH.Game.state). At your own risk.
9. On phones and tablets
Section titled “9. On phones and tablets”There is no console or keyboard under your finger, so the game (iOS / Android app, or the website on a phone) replaces them, and the criminal record hints change accordingly.
| On a computer | On a touch screen |
|---|---|
| open the developer tools (Spy) | hold your finger on the Elo rating at the top for 1.5 s: the referee’s terminal opens, and the referee saw you |
| type in the console | type in the terminal: caissa.help(), caissa.tempo(1e30), cheat, e4, jadoube… exactly as in the console |
keyboard codes (motherlode, iddqd, bongcloud, stockfish, caissa) | type them in the terminal |
open the game with #caissa | type #caissa in the terminal (once per save) |
| Konami code ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A | swipe on the chessboard: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, then two taps (B and A) |
| 7 clicks on the logo | 7 quick taps on “ELORUSH” at the top left |
| clock and date cheats | change the time or date in the phone settings (“Set automatically” off) |
| edit the save (Forger) | menu ≡ › Export, edit the text, then Import (section 6) |
The Konami swipes do not scroll the page: on the board, every gesture counts for the game. To scroll, swipe above or below the board.
